All Safewater Technologies is a water treatment company working to supply our customers with the best solutions for top quality water at affordable prices. Water treatment encompasses an array of solutions from softeners to complete systems for your home.
If your community or well tests for poor water quality you have several options to provide quality water for you and your family. A water softener can be installed to replace the calcium and magnesium ions in the water with sodium ions. This eliminates the “scale” and soap scum caused by hard water. A reverses osmosis system is the next level to providing the best drinking water for your family.
All Safewater can provide a free water test and recommend a solution to fit your needs. If you already have a system in your home or office, we will also provide a free explanation of equipment to help you understand how your system works. All systems are installed by Joe Brown, a fully insured and certified technician and owner of the company.
Water treatment is, collectively, the industrial-scale process that makes water more acceptable for an end-use, which may be drinking, industry, or medicine. Water treatment should remove existing water contaminants or so reduce their concentration so water becomes fit for its desired end-use. Substances that are removed include suspended solids, bacteria, algae, viruses, fungi, minerals such as iron, manganese and sulfur, and other chemical pollutants such as fertilizers
Water softening is the removal of calcium, magnesium, and certain other metal cations in hard water. The resulting soft water is more compatible with soap and extends the lifetime of plumbing. Water softening is usually achieved using lime softening or ion-exchange resins.
Acid Neutralizing Filters use Calcite (calcium carbonate), a naturally occurring mineral, to raise the pH of acidic water and neutralize its corrosive characteristics. In addition to protecting pipes, plumbing fixtures and appliances, this filter also facilitates the removal of iron and manganese by raising the pH and enabling the use of an iron filter. As the Calcite neutralizes the water, it will increase hardness and a softener may become necessary after the neutralizing filter. One of the advantages of Calcite is it’s a self-limiting property. When properly applied, it corrects pH only enough to reach a non-corrosive equilibrium. It does not over correct under normal conditions. Upon contact with low pH (acidic water) the Calcite will slowly dissolve to raise the pH which reduces the potential leaching of copper, lead and other metals found in typical plumbing systems. Additional Calcite be required periodically after installation depending on the pH of the water and water usage.
Reverse osmosis (RO) is a water purification technology that uses a semi permeable membrane to remove ions, molecules, and larger particles from drinking water. In reverse osmosis, an applied pressure is used to overcome osmotic pressure . Reverse osmosis can remove many types of dissolved and suspended species from water, including bacteria. The result is that the solute is retained on the pressurized side of the membrane and the pure solvent is allowed to pass to the other side. To be “selective”, this membrane should not allow large molecules or ions through the pores (holes), but should allow smaller components of the solution (such as solvent molecules) to pass freely.
